Through Our Eyes: Why We Stride
Join me in supporting a real change for patients with cavernous malformations. This is the second year I am raising money for Alliance to a Cure, a foundation whose mission is to bring innovative therapies and a community of support to those with this rare disease. Funds help drive research for more effective and less invasive treatments and a cure for cavernous malformations. This includes the following:
CCM CureDriver™ Lab: testing potential CCM drugs with the goal of accelerating the speed of preclinical testing and getting patients treatments faster
CCM Centers of Excellence and Clinical Centers: building a network of hospitals with expert CCM care and for clinical trials.
Focused ultrasound trial planning: Translating this noninvasive technology shown to halt the growth of CCM lesions in mouse models to patients.
This month, I aim to run >30 miles to raise money for this cause. Please visit this site for updates on my progress.
Update Week 2: I've caught a cold from one of the kids on my pediatrics rotation so I've opted for walking & biking
Update Week 4: Finally recovered from a long 1.5 week cold! 26 miles down of walking & biking and now back to running (4 miles down).
