Through Our Eyes: Why We Stride
Living with cavernous malformation isn’t just a diagnosis—it’s a daily journey filled with uncertainty, resilience, and hope. In the face of federal cuts to research funding, cures for rare diseases like CCM rely on private donors now more than ever before. When I was diagnosed, one of the first things I did after getting out of the hospital was make a substantial donation to the Alliance for Cure.
Why an $18 (or $36 or more) donation? Because the Hebrew letters that make up $18 are also the root letters for the word CHAI (LIFE), as in “L’chaim!” Making a Chai Donation will add to the good luck and good vibes!
Please consider supporting me and hundreds of others across the globe in the 30 miles in 30 days challenge, from June 1–30, as part of Strides to Cure CCM. I’ll be walking at least a mile a day (sometimes with the help of poles) every day in June. Good PT, good for my spirits and good for The Alliance to Cure.
Every mile we walk honors the fight so many of us face—every mile raises awareness, fuels research, and reminds families like mine that we are not alone.
If you’re able, please consider joining us or making a donation. Together, we can take steps that lead to something greater—a cure.
Thank you from the tops of our brains and the bottoms of our hearts. 🙂❤️
