$100 towards $1,000

22 years ago, I founded Angioma Alliance, now called the Alliance to Cure Cavernous Malformation, to bring together CCM patients for education and support and to drive research. With the community we've built, we've accomplished far more than I could ever have imagined and are now racing toward a cure for this disease. Non-invasive treatments are in trials. There is real hope because of the work of the Alliance, made possible with your support.

This year, I need to participate in our Strides to Cure CCM campaign more than ever. Our beloved dog - my motivation for daily walking - passed away on May 5th, and I've been sinking into the couch far more than I should. I've set a minimum 2-mile daily goal from May 15th to June 14th, and I would appreciate your encouragement.

Cerebral cavernous malformations (CCM) are abnormal blood vessels in the brain and spinal cord that can hemorrhage and cause stroke and seizure at any age. Brain and spinal cord surgery have been the only treatments. My daughter had her first hemorrhage when she was 4 months old, has had 4 brain surgeries, and is always at risk. A cure can't come soon enough.

I am always honored by the trust you place in our organization. Together, we move mountains.
